COVID-19’s Impact on REI WORKSHOPS

As COVID-19 spreads throughout the world, ThirdSpace Action Lab (TSAL) lifts up in particular the impact of the outbreak on communities of color, as highlighted in this statement from Race Forward. We invite our comrades in this work to join us in centering these communities in our conversations, interventions, and calls to action.

The health and safety of our participants and trainers is also a top priority for TSAL, and like organizations throughout the community we are monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely. With this in mind, all 2020 Groundwater (half-day), Phase One (two-day), and Latino Challenges (three-day) workshops will be hosted virtually in beginning in June.

In the meantime, please follow the guidance of public health officials:

  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; dry hands with a clean towel or air dry hands.

  • Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer when soap and water are unavailable.

  • Cover your mouth with a tissue or sleeve when sneezing or coughing.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Stay home when you are sick.

  • Avoid contact with people who are sick.

  • Also, clean high-touch areas – counters, tables, doorknobs, light switches, bathroom fixtures, toilets, phones, keyboards, tablets, nightstands – every day using household cleaning spray or wipes according to label directions.
