Evelyn Burnett is a co-founder and CEO of ThirdSpace Action Lab and Third Space Café. Prior to this exciting venture, Evelyn served as Vice President, Economic Opportunity at Cleveland Neighborhood Progress an intermediary whose mission is to foster communities of choice and opportunity throughout Cleveland.
Mordecai Cargill is a co-founder and Creative Director of ThirdSpace Action Lab and Third Space Café. Prior to starting this exciting venture, Mordecai served as the Director of Strategy, Research & Impact at Cleveland Neighborhood Progress (CNP), a community development funding intermediary committed to fostering inclusive neighborhoods of choice and opportunity throughout the city of Cleveland.
Tina Cargill is the Executive Administrator at ThirdSpace Action Lab, she serves our Partners and Team by helping keep all wheels moving forward in her role as one of the operations managers, event planners and HR + Benefits Coordinator. She is a native Cleveland Eastsider that has many years of experience working administratively in several industries throughout the city and can be seen at her happiest attending a TSAL event, hanging out somewhere comfortably in the background, cheering on whomever may currently have the mic in their hand!
Seth Beattie is the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives at ThirdSpace Action Lab, where he focuses on learning, research, and analysis in client engagements. Prior to joining the ThirdSpace team, he served as senior program officer with The Kresge Foundation’s Arts & Culture Program, advancing arts and culture's role in equitable community development and urban planning.
Dominique Miller is the Senior Fellow of Research + Engagement at ThirdSpace Action Lab, Co-Chair of the New Hampshire Creative Communities Network, and Board Chair of Creative Placemaking Communities. She has worked in performing arts management for over 10 years and creative placemaking since 2016, on both the east and west coast.
Dr. Martha Potts is the awareness building manager at ThirdSpace Action Lab, where she coordinates the operations of Racial Equity Institute Workshops. Dr. Potts left a career at the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority to pursue a doctorate in organizational behavior at Case Western Reserve University. Her research focus is human systems transformation. Her passion is specific regarding how individuals, groups, organizations, communities and nations achieve positive growth and sustainable transformation in the midst of adversity.
Harry Atwell, our Community Manager, is a native Clevelander who was born and raised within the Glenville community. He oversees the day to day runnings of the ThirdSpace Reading Room bookstore, its calendar of programs and events and is the proud caretaker of the space. Harry looks forward to establishing the Reading Room as a steadfast community safe place; where people can purposefully come together and exchange ideas manifested through the impact of their individual experiences.
Brittany Priest is the Finance and Administration Manager at ThirdSpace Action Lab and a CLE native. Prior to joining the TSAL team, she worked in banking as an ACAMS certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist before transitioning to full time entrepreneurship as a Business Ops Manager. She now manages the environment where finance and administration intersect at TSAL. She enjoys listening to audiobooks, cooking, and exposing her two children to new and exciting things through travel and exploration.
India Pierre-Ingram is the Chocolate City Cleveland Project Manager at ThirdSpace Action Lab. In this role, she manages the logistics and archive management for Chocolate City Cleveland. A transplant to Cleveland from the DMV, India previously worked at Cuyahoga Arts and Culture as the Grant Operations and Racial Equity Initiatives Manager. India is a storyteller through various mediums and graduated with her Master in Fine Arts in Arts as Environmental and Social Practice. India believes that the arts should, has and can be used for liberation and system change.
Eva Rodriguez is the Consulting Administrator at ThirdSpace Action Lab where she directly supports TSAL's consulting team in scheduling, client coordination, and project management. With a background in environmental science, science museum communications and education, Eva spent 10 years working in the non-profit sector at nature-based and living museum spaces designing information, content, and experiences for exhibits, natural spaces, and nature-based programming. Eva is deeply interested in environmental justice and the intersection between access to nature and race.
Ariel Brent is an Executive Assistant at ThirdSpace Action Lab where she supports operations by implementing organizational processes and prioritizing efficiency. Ariel is from Cleveland, Ohio. Professionally, she enjoys problem-solving, process creation, and learning. She has an active 5-year-old son, and they enjoy playing basketball, swimming, and going to local parks. She also love fitness and traveling. She is proud to be a comrade at ThirdSpace Action Lab.
Tristen Hall is a Digital Media and Communications Consultant at ThirdSpace Action Lab where she supports digital community engagement through social media and the website. Tristen is currently a 4th year PhD candidate at Miami University where their research explores how the social networks of students of color impact their attitudes on community and coalition building.
Dr. Sherrae M. Mack (formerly: Hayes), currently serves as a Senior Consultant with ThirdSpace Action Lab. She completed her Ph.D. in African American and African Studies at Michigan State University (MSU) in May of 2015 coupled with a graduate certification in Urban Education (MSU - College of Education). Dr. Mack's professional experience includes critical approaches to integrative consulting in the area(s) of racial equity, anti-oppression, community engagement, intergenerational change, and community branding - specifically in under-resourced communities. Dr. Mack is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, a proud graduate of Glenville High School (2004), and a dedicated alumna of Tennessee State University where she obtained her B.A. - Speech Communications degree in May 2008.
Karis Tzeng is the Senior Fellow, Content + Research at Third Space Action Lab. She has worked in community development for 10 years, including most recently as Vice President of Planning for MidTown Cleveland, where she led neighborhood planning and place building efforts in the MidTown and AsiaTown neighborhoods.
Curtis Minter, Jr. is The People’s Practice - Sr. Fellow, Community of Practice + Covenings of ThirdSpace Action Lab. He previously launched Talented Xth Consulting and served as Operations Director of The Well CDC (Akron, OH). With more than a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector his career has leaned towards coalition building and transcribing innovative solutions for hyperlocal contexts.
Monica Copeland is the Project Director for The People’s Practice, a multi-strategy initiative to advance anti-racist practice and policy in the community development sector. Prior to joining ThirdSpace Action Lab, Monica worked on financial inclusion and asset building for low- and moderate-income families with organizations such as Inclusiv, Prosperity Now, New York City Office of Financial Empowerment, Baltimore CASH Campaign, IDA and Asset Building Collaborative of NC, and Self-Help.

Based in Northern California, Jenina is the Design Consultant at ThirdSpace Action Lab. She (1) co-designs the company’s monthly newsletter , (2) conceptualizes and curates the Reading Room, and (3) conducts research for key client engagements that reckon with the historical and emergent relationship of structural racial injustice and advancing racial equity in the built environment. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, where she designed her own research program that centers care-giving and care-receiving practices of Filipino and Filipino-American volunteers in built and imagined spaces. Jenina is also a Color by Design Fellow, serving as a Design Researcher at IDEO.
